The Week at a Glance: 9/25-10/1

Image
Hey there, y'all - I'm going to be posting, on Sunday evenings, an outline of the week to come.  Remember: The Production Calendar is where the day-to-day schedule will be posted! 9/26...400-600p - Rehearsal:  Read-thru table work on pages 1-46.  Only actors in those pages need attend (Wadsworth, Yvette, Cook, Game Pieces) + Stage Management team (in order to schedule attendance for them) 9/27...400-600p - Rehearsal: Read-thru table work on pages 46-78. Only actors alive  in those pages need attend (those listed above, minus the cook, adding the Motorist, Cop, Chief, and STG) 9/28... Flex - Tech Meeting: All Management, Leads, Apprentices, and Running Crew are called to a tech meeting to look over the Production Calendar and get an idea of roles, timing, and assignments. Asynchronous - Memorization/Characterization: Following our work this week, the goal is to get as far off-book as possible prior to blocking in October's Rehearsals.  Work on this to the best o...

A Production Calendar, a Mandatory Crew Date...and a 'To-Do' to check off your list

Image
Evening, y'all! 1) I've uploaded a Production Calendar that will continue to fill in as we learn more about dates, times, and obligations (linked HERE and in the Sidebar).  It is well-started, though, particularly around now, Tech, and Performance Weeks.  Use it as a general guideline until I can get a better handle on rehearsal requirements, conflicts, and designer needs.  ALL CAST/CREW/MANAGEMENT SHOULD LOOK IT OVER! 2) I'm asking ALL CAST/CREW/MANAGEMENT to take a moment by FRIDAY, 9.23 to fill out the Cast/Crew Contact & Show Info Form .  This will get important information in our hands ASAP that'll be needed for the production! 3) I'm asking ALL CREW/MANAGEMENT to attend a short meeting during Flex on WEDNESDAY, 9/28 so's we can get on the same page for the upcoming obligations. Thanks, Team!  Super excited to get underway! - jm

The Crew List

Image
Before we get to the list...PLEASE REMEMBER: 1) Due to the huge number of applicants, many of whom I don't know, I've had to limit most positions to either those folks that I've already seen their work, or that gave me a bunch of useful info on their Crew Application.   2) For those I don't know, who didn't know to turn in a Crew Application, or didn't fill it out with quite enough information, you're not out of the running!  There are positions for where this isn't a problem. 3) For EVERYONE: You are welcome to join us at any of the builds/hangs (Scenic, Costume, Lighting, Sound)!  This is the #1 BEST WAY FOR ME TO GET TO KNOW YOUR WORK!!!  You don't need to sign up, be assigned, nothing...just check this blog or the Callboard, and drop by. 4) For all assigned to Run Crew: This role will see folks assigned to a variety of show-necessary tasks once we reach Tech Week.  There is no way at this stage to know how many tasks will be necessary to set up...

Crew Posting - Final Delay

Due to a set of personal time conflicts, the list will post later than I thought...1000pm tonight. A couple of notes for y'all: 1) Due to the huge number of applicants, many of whom I don't know, I've had to limit most positions to either those folks that I've already seen their work, or that gave me a bunch of useful info on their Crew Application. Thanks again for the amazing turnout...you've made this super difficult!  I'm very grateful... - jm

Management and Cast List...Crew List Delayed

Image
In ways I can’t begin to describe, thank you!  This has been an amazing experience for my return to directing after a break stretching back to 2019’s ‘Gentleman’s Guide…’ Humbling to be sure…and you have my most heartfelt thanks for making this an amazing week. Crew: I have to make you wait until Saturday.  The absolutely overwhelming number of people who want to be involved in this process has completely shorted my ability to think!  I’m in the VERY unfortunate position of having to decline a fair number of applicants…there’s just no room on the show.  Hang in there!  I’ll have a CREW LIST posted by 500pm on Saturday, with the exception of the Stage Management/A.S.M. positions, which will post with the cast below. Cast : *tear falls* You’ve done such an amazing job this week with your heart and fun, your good nature and energy, that you’ve made this so challenging.  I will tell you that many decisions were made for me: both good (some truly role-winning ch...

Gender Presentation Preferences/Comfort Levels

Image
As per our conversation at the end of Day One, linked below is the Gender Role Preference/Comfort form I mentioned.   Again, given the journey so many folks are on in terms of better understanding themselves, I'm not going to put folks in the position of playing a role that is actively damaging to their mental well-being.  Thanks for taking the time to help me make a more informed decision. Thanks for killing it on Day One! Gender Role Preference Form
